I’m always drawn to a well-researched report, especially when it balances data with practical recommendations. SocialPilot have analysed 1.5 million TikTok posts from Q1 2025 to produce a guide, offering a useful snapshot of current platform trends and behaviours. Here are a few standout insights: - Posting less frequently can lead to higher engagement - Video length should reflect your goal: Growing your audience? Keep it under 30 seconds Engaging your current followers? 31–60 seconds is the sweet spot - While video increases reach, image posts drive more engagement - Captions matter. For discoverability, accessibility, and performance, aim for 101–200 characters. What I particularly like is how the guide tailors its recommendations based on industry sector and where you are in your TikTok journey — whether you're just getting started or focusing on nurturing an existing audience. That context is key to making sense of any report. Download the TikTok Guide here: https://bit.ly/4kJnHtw [AD] #MarketingTrends #TikTok

📢 The Fenty Beauty Experience! 🎤💄🌟 I had the privilege of speaking at the Fenty Beauty Experience in our TikTok Content Studio, presented by B&H Photo Video, and loved sharing some key insights on creating captivating beauty content on TikTok. I had so much fun and wanted to share a few of the tips from my talk below: 🔹 When it comes to growing your audience and fostering a community on TikTok, tapping into trending conversations is a highly effective strategy. What's truly remarkable about beauty content is its ability to seamlessly integrate with trending topics and moments, often in innovative and unique ways. 🔹 Successful Beauty formats: 1) Providing a recommendation:We all have those go-to products we adore, and TikTok is the perfect platform to share our genuine opinions. According to a 2021 study by Luth, a staggering 70% of TikTok users rely on the platform as a valuable resource when shopping for beauty products. As a creator, building trust with your audience is paramount. Share not only what you love but also what you don't, showcasing your authentic point of view. 2) Tutorials: Another tried and tested format on TT is instructive and informative content, in the form of a tutorial— we’ve all learned a thing or two from TikTok, right? Longer tutorials, which provide viewers with extra value and comprehensive details, are an excellent starting point. With TikTok users now dedicating 50% of their time to videos longer than one minute, instructive and informative content, especially in a longer format, performs exceptionally well. As a creator aiming to expand your presence, a mix of long-form and short-form content is your winning combination for reaching new audiences. 3) GRWM: Another format worth considering, and one that works particularly well with longer videos, is "Get Ready with Me" content. Here, storytelling is key. Craft a narrative with a strong beginning, middle, and end to engage your audience effectively. 🔹My 3 tips top Tips for creators: 1) Consistency is Key: When you consistently show up for your audience, they reciprocate by showing up for you. 2) Analytics Insights: Delve into your analytics to uncover what your audience craves. They are the secret sauce to creating quality content that resonates. 3) Authenticity is Timeless: In the world of beauty content, authenticity is your superpower. Stand out, be genuine, and share your unique perspective. Your authenticity will set you apart and capture your audience's hearts. I'm so delighted to have had the opportunity to share these insights with the Fenty Beauty community! See you at the next one

I used to be scared of posting on TikTok until I finally bit the bullet and racked up 1.7million views on one video. I'd been putting off talking about my Come Dine With Me experience on social because I'd need to plan the videos and spend time making them good. Basically I was being lazy. But I knew that if I did make these videos, I could start to build a solid following and learn a lot about the app in the process. After all, the more I know about TikTok, the better I am at my job. So I bit the bullet and posted my first video about Come Dine With Me. That video turned into a nine part series with total views of 3million. Here's what I learnt in the process: 1) If people like it, make it a series. If one video does well then don't pass up the opportunity to make more parts. What seems obvious to you will be intriguing to someone else. Don't let your own bias get in the way of making good content. 2) Don't sleep on TikTok Shop. Once I built up a decent following through my original content I tried out selling on TikTok Shop. I made one video and have sold 55 units. I didn't want to sell protein bars. I wanted to sell something I'd buy. So I chose underwear. 3) Reply to comments with videos. I recently recorded a video from Lidl in Germany. The video did about 3k but the video reply I made to a comment about my pronunciation of "Lidl" did 16k. The gold is in the comments. Comment with your TikTok gems.

I’ve helped brands and creators grow on TikTok for years. If I was building an audience from scratch today, here's the 6 things I’d do right now: 1. Create one repeatable idea or series your audience instantly recognises as yours, trends are borrowed attention, but moments you create become your brand. 2. Hook fast and hold longer. Lead with tension, curiosity or contrast, then keep the pace tight and simple. 3. Show up as a person, not a pitch. The more human you are, the faster people trust you. 4. Turn your comments, questions and duets into content, engagement into creation, is one of the easiest growth loops on the platform. 5. Repeat your top-performing ideas in new ways. The algorithm rewards consistency, not novelty. 6. Check your analytics once a month, not every day… data needs time to become a pattern, not a feeling. I’m using this exact system today to help brands grow without burning out or chasing every trend that pops up. Follow for more practical strategies to help your business grow on social media.

How to actually grow your followers (without buying bots or trying to chase every trend) Because if you want growth, you need a plan. LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok… the platforms change, but the fundamentals stay the same. Let’s break it down… ✨1. Nail your profile first LinkedIn = headline, about section & banner. Instagram = bio & highlights. TikTok = bio & pinned videos. Your profile should instantly answer: → Who you help → How you help them → Why they should follow you If that’s not clear, people won’t hit follow. ✨2. Create content worth saving & sharing Ask yourself: → Would someone send this to a friend? → Would they save this to come back to? → Would I add this to my instagram story? ✨3. Be part of the conversation → Leave meaningful comments on posts in your niche. → Reply to Stories too, not just feed posts. → Write your thoughts when you repost. Engagement = visibility. ✨4. Collaborate → Where possible, feature other creators, partners, or brands in your content. → Collabs introduce you to new audiences and can accelerate growth quickly. ✨5. Repurpose smartly If a piece of content performs well, don’t just celebrate and move on. → Repurpose it a month later → Recreate it in a different format → Use the same idea, style, or tone for another post or video Success leaves clues. Follow them. ✨6. Show faces (and personalities) → This is the GOLDEN RULE across every platform. → This could be yourself. Your team. UGC creators. → People don’t connect with logos & brand products, they connect with humans. And just a reminder… Follower growth isn’t about gaming the algorithm. It’s about clarity, visibility, and value → repeated consistently. Save this post for when you need it in the future 🫶🏼✨ Hey, I’m Jess 👋🏼 I share tips and advice on how to build your best social content and strategies! How I Gained 500K+ Followers in 3 Years (3 Simple Steps Anyone Can Use) Three years ago, alongside Wasan Yousif & Abdulla Ahmadi, I founded @5osh.fkra, which now boasts a combined total of over 500K followers on TikTok & Instagram, with over 65M organic views in the last 60 days across both platforms. The reason I'm writing this post is to help others starting the journey of building influential brands or becoming content creators. Simple Step #1 - Start Ugly What if it doesn't work? What if people judge me? It's not the right time because of X, Y, Z. I'm not good enough (imposter syndrome). And so on, and so forth. These excuses sound convincing, especially when you tell them to yourself. But the truth is 99.9% of people fail here. Not because they lack skill or talent, but because they try to start perfect. Looking back at our initial posts on 5osh Fkra, they were far from perfect. To be honest, they were quite ugly. While I can't help but cringe when I see our oldest posts, I'm glad we found the courage to start despite the imperfections. Little did we know back then, there was no other way. Simple Step #2: Keep Showing Up Now that you've started imperfectly, the next step is even simpler. Do it again. And again. And again. And again. There's no magic formula, just consistency. Simple, yes. Easy? No. 99.9% of people also fail here. For years, it felt like every day was a mission to ensure we didn't miss a posting day on 5osh Fkra. Because I took this mission seriously, we averaged more than two posts per day over three years. That's more than 1,800 posts. Without consistent effort, Step #1 becomes pointless, and Step #3 becomes impossible. Simple Step #3: Make Continuous Improvement an Obsession (Kaizen) Now that you've started imperfectly and are consistently showing up, it's time to get better. All you need to do is try your best to make each piece of content better than the last. Even if it's just 1% better, over time, these small improvements compound. At 5osh Fkra, we treated every piece of content like a scientific experiment that provided us with data. From that data, we derived lessons and new hypotheses on what works and what doesn't, aiming to provide value to our audience. With time, best practices became second nature, engagement improved, and growth compounded. The first 100 followers became 1K, then 100K, and finally, 500K. Now, we have one of the most popular platforms in Bahrain & the GCC. My ego would like to take credit for being a social media genius, but in reality, I just applied the simple strategy behind mastery. "Start ugly, keep showing up, and make continuous improvement an obsession." And just like that, not only can you build a page with 500K+ followers, but you can also achieve success in any field. P.S. This is actually my first proper LinkedIn post, so I felt the hesitation of starting ugly, but decided to do it anyway to bring value to others. Like this post if you enjoyed the read!

The man behind Alex Hormozi & Gary Vee's brands: Caleb Ralston. Jay Klouse interviewed him on how he helped grow Hormozi's audience from 1.2M to 11.5M followers & Gary's TikTok from 300K to 3.5M in just 3 months. Here are the 8 biggest takeaways: 1. Top creators produce 300+ pieces of content PER WEEK. Not to flood people’s feeds… But to acquire data. Quality is subjective. Your audience determines what "quality" means, not you. The more you publish, the faster you learn what resonates with them. 2. Use the "Accordion Method" to optimize content. Start with high volume to collect data… Then contract: Take the effort from 14 posts and put it into 7 higher-quality ones based on what performed. Then expand volume again with your new knowledge. Constant refinement > trying to execute perfectly. 3. Start with the "Brand Journey Framework" to avoid random content: • What outcome do I want? • What would I have to be known for to achieve it? • What would I have to do to be known for that? • What do I have to learn to do those things? This prevents building an audience around topics you'll end up hating. 4. 80/20 rule for content topics: 80% focused on your core expertise. 20% showing yourself as a human with interests. "Have 80% of your content be about your core thing and use the other 20% to make yourself an interesting human." This prevents burnout and builds deeper connections. 5. For new creators without experience: Share your journey of learning, not just outcomes. Document mistakes so others can avoid them. Be an "expert learner" not a fake expert. "Share your unique perspective on how you're about learning the thing." 6. Get comfortable repeating yourself in different ways. Stories are the key. They let you teach the same principles in different contexts. "I'm going to say the same things over and over in slightly different ways because you never know when it's going to hit home for somebody." 7. Track what matters, not everything. Only track metrics that change your actions. Report on multipliers/outliers, not raw numbers. Instead of saying "150K views," say "1.5X outperformer" compared to your benchmark. This immediately shows what to continue & what to stop. 8. Educational content builds trust, and trust precedes transactions. "What you are doing with educational content is trying to scale trust." When people associate you with their success, they trust you massively. Focus on making it easy for the audience to take action after consuming your content. What's your biggest takeaway from this thread? Let me know below. & if you enjoyed this… Follow me for more content like this.

Too many brands treat engagement as reactive. They wait for someone to tag them, leave a comment, or ask a question—and only then do they respond. That’s not community building. That’s customer support. We approach engagement differently here at Plot. One of our most effective tactics is spending just one hour a day—split between the morning and afternoon—commenting intentionally across the platform. Even on posts that have nothing to do with our category. We call this approach the "proactive surface area" The idea of it is pretty simple: show up outside your core niche increases your chances of being discovered, especially by people who didn't even know to look for you in the first place. I’ve done this work for years across multiple brands, and I can tell you it’s one of the most lightweight, low friction ways to get found organically. Especially on TikTok, where the algorithm doesn’t care if your content or comment is niche specific. It cares whether you’re interesting. The goal behind this strategy is awareness. When we’re engaging this way, we don’t go hunting for high performing videos. We scroll like regular people. We stop when the hook is strong, or when a video has a recognizable creator or celebrity, or when it touches on a topic people clearly care about. Then we leave a comment that’s on brand for us but still relevant to the moment. 📌 This tactic alone helped us 3x our TikTok growth in 6 months. We know who our community is. But we also know that those people don’t live exclusively inside our bubble. They’re out there laughing at the same memes, probably following the same creators, and watching the same stupid videos as everyone else. I actually take it back, engaging with that content isn’t random. It’s just meeting people where they are. And when one of those comments ends up with 75,000 likes (which actually happened btw), that’s not nothing! It’s organic brand visibility without spending a dime on ads. This is how small, scrappy teams cut through the noise. We don’t have massive budgets. What we do have is time, gut intuition, and a clear strategy that helps us test what works. And now, thankfully, we’ve built a feature in Plot to track all of this work. Back when it was just me and my spreadsheets, I would've killed for this. Here’s how we log and measure proactive engagement inside Plot. I'm ready for your questions and welcome your debate. Come @ me, bruh.

It might take SIX months to actually reach meaningful scale on TikTok Shop. Here's how that timeline breaks down: WEEK 1 Product selection: The sweet spot is FIVE hero products. To select these five products, look at the products that have historically performed well for your brand and cross-reference with what ALREADY sells well on TikTok Shop. The products that sell well on TikTok shop are usually: - Lightweight - Solve a problem for consumers that can be easily showcased in visual content - <$50 - Impulsive purchases (makeup, clothing, small electronics) Post brand content: Content on your brand page is tablestakes. You need to flood the feed with content about your product and brand. Set targets: Our team forecasts a whole YEAR in advance. Establish your North Star GMV. How much outreach to influencers will this take? How many samples do we need to send? How many videos need to be posted by the brand and creators? MONTH 1-3 Establish customer personas: Be CRYSTAL clear on who your audience is on TikTok. How do you reach them? What do they engage with? Identify ideal affiliates: Using the affiliate dashboard, start negotiating commission fees with affiliates that can speak DIRECTLY to your customer personas. This first pass at creator vetting should be a wide net. Collect data on who is actually driving performance. You might be surprised by which creator personas work best on TikTok. Boost sales: TikTok Shop's social proof is showcased through the number of products sold. The first step is getting the right creators to flood the feed. The sooner you can prove people are buying your products, the sooner more people start buying, too. MONTHS 3-6 This is where you start to find your footing. Optimize for TikTok Shop search: Identify relevant and high-performing keywords for your products. Include these keywords in titles, descriptions, and list tags to improve search visibility. Develop your community: TikTok Shop is a flywheel. The more successful creators you have, the more creators will want to work with you. Test and iterate: Your pricing strategy, discount strategy, affiliate personas, and creative strategy should be considered here. This part of the process ^ ideally never ends. Realistically, ambitious brands could fast-track all this in two months by turning up the heat on all fronts. More conservative brands might approach cost control and move inventory before allocating more to the channel. Neither strategy is wrong. It comes down to knowing which levers to pull and where to double down based on the data for YOUR specific brand. Six months seems like a long time to wait, but the POTENTIAL on TikTok Shop over the next year is well worth it.

Things I learned about building a brand on TikTok after hitting 100K followers: #1 iPhone quality > camera quality People love point and shoot, raw, real-life moments. The less produced, the better. #2 Storytelling always wins Learn to hook, build, and land a story in ~90 seconds. If you can make someone feel something, you’ve won. #3 TikTok rewards you for using its tools Use effects, sounds, captions, stickers. My personal fave: GreenScreen Sticker. #4 Consistency is non-negotiable I posted 1–2 videos every single day for the last year. No. Matter. What. #5 Engage like a real human Reply to comments. Scroll. Interact. TikTok wants active users. Give yourself 10 intentional minutes daily. #6 Use Creator Search Insights See what people are searching, then add your take. Trend participation ≠ copying. It’s about relevance. #7 Test new formats constantly Vlogs, GRWM, voiceovers, photo dumps, duets, stitches – TikTok loves experimentation. #8 Turn content into a series "Part 2” culture is real. People love coming back. It builds loyalty, not just views. #9 And finally… don’t give a sh*t what people think Remember, cringe is cool. Excited to share more of my TikTok journey here and encourage folks to get on the app, it's never too late to join the influencer wave.
