I've been in the copywriting space for 10 years and have generated $100’s of millions of dollars for clients.  Here are the 9 most profitable copywriting lessons I've learned along the way: 1. Most Copy Follows the Same Pattern: Headline → Lead → Body → Offer → CTA. Use this structure for every piece of copy: sales pages, emails, ads—everything. Try this today: Take an existing sales page and rearrange it to follow this flow. Notice how it improves clarity. 2. Stop Selling to Everyone: A hungry niche is far more valuable than a big, lukewarm audience. Identify your top 2–3 customer personas and speak directly to them. Try this today: Rewrite one of your marketing emails to address a single, specific persona’s biggest pain point. 3. Your Headline is King: 80% of your effort should go into writing a headline that stops the scroll. Without a powerful headline, no one reads the rest. Try this today: Write 10 variations of a headline for the same offer. Pick the strongest one (or split-test them). 4. Write First, Edit Later: Separate the creative process (writing freely) from the critical process (editing). More words during writing; fewer words after editing. Try this today: Draft an email or ad in one sitting without stopping yourself, then cut it down by 30%. 5. Make it a Slippery Slope: Headline sells the subheadline → subheadline sells the lead → lead sells the body → body sells the CTA → CTA sells the click. Each section teases the next. Try this today: Structure each element on your landing page to create curiosity for the next. 6. People Care About Themselves: They want to know: “What’s in it for me?” Focus your copy on how your product solves their problems or satisfies their desires. Try this today: Count how many times you say “you” versus “I/we” in your copy. Aim for at least a 2:1 ratio. 7. Embrace the Rule of One: One product, one big idea, one CTA per piece of copy. Avoid confusing your reader with multiple offers. Try this today: If you have multiple CTAs in an email or ad, eliminate all but one to see if conversions improve. 8. Be a Friend, Not a Salesman: Show your personality: use relatable language, humor, empathy. Give value first, then ask for the sale. Try this today: Add a personal anecdote or inside joke in your next email to build rapport and trust. 9. Never Start from Scratch: Use proven frameworks (PAS, AIDA, FAB, etc.) to save time and improve results. Frameworks guide your thinking and help you hit the emotional triggers your audience needs. Try this today: Pick one framework (e.g., PAS) and outline your next sales email before filling it in with copy.

MASSIVE UPDATE for Social Media 🎉 Your Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X posts are no longer just social media content. They're becoming searchable assets. If you've followed me for a while, you'll know I've been talking about this shift for a few months. I've always believed we need to stop creating content just for today's feed and start creating content around what our audience is actually searching for. Now Google has announced a new feature in Search Console called Platform Properties. It means you'll soon be able to connect your Instagram, TikTok, X or YouTube account to Search Console and see how your content is performing in Google Search and Discover. You'll be able to see: • Which Google search terms are leading people to your social media content. • Which posts are getting the most clicks and impressions from Google. • How people are discovering your content. • Which posts are performing best over time. The feature is rolling out over the next few weeks, so don't worry if you can't see it just yet. So, what should businesses and marketing teams be doing now? ↳  Create content around the questions your audience is asking. Every business gets asked the same questions. Turn those into social media posts. If people are searching for those answers, your content has another opportunity to be discovered. ↳ Review your content strategy. Ask yourself whether you're creating enough educational content. Company news and updates are important, but so are FAQs, how-to guides, tips and insights that help your audience solve a problem. ↳ Use the data to improve your future content. Instead of guessing what people want to see, you'll be able to understand which topics and posts are attracting people through Google Search and create more content around them. For me, this is another sign that search, AI and social media are becoming more connected. It's why I've been encouraging businesses to create searchable content rather than simply chasing trends. I think we're only going to see more of this. What do you think? #SocialMedia #GoogleSearchConsole #ContentStrategy

We need to talk about the silent killer of social media success. As a social media strategist, I've noticed a concerning trend Content fatigue is spreading faster than viral reels. Let's talk about it openly. The Reality Check: I've worked with multiple brands, and here's what I consistently see behind those quiet social feeds: 🔹 The Perfectionist Loop "This isn't good enough yet" = Never posting at all 🔹 The Introvert's Dilemma "I hate being on camera" = Missing out on powerful connection opportunities 🔹 The Burnout Spiral "I need fresh content daily" = Quality sacrificed for quantity But here's what nobody's talking about: Content fatigue isn't your fault. It's a natural response to unsustainable expectations. 🎯 Solution Framework I Use With Clients: 1. Permission to be Imperfect - Start with 60% perfect content - Progress beats perfection - Build momentum through consistency 2. Smart Content Architecture - One pillar content = 10 micro-content pieces - Repurpose strategically, not lazily - Build content systems, not content pieces 3. Energy Management - Schedule content creation when your energy peaks - Batch similar tasks - Plan deliberate content breaks 4. Simplification Strategy - Break complex topics into digestible pieces - Use the "explain it to a 10-year-old" rule - Focus on one key message per post Content creation shouldn't feel like a daily marathon. If it does, your strategy needs adjustment, not your willpower. What's your biggest content creation struggle? Let's solve it together. #ContentStrategy #SocialMediaMarketing #DigitalMarketing #ContentCreation #MarketingTips #BusinessGrowth #PersonalBranding

AI can write anything. But can it write clearly? As AI floods the internet with passable content, clarity— not quantity— is becoming the ultimate competitive edge. Research from 18 years of A/B tests proves it:  → Copywriting is still the #1 lever for increasing conversion. And here’s the kicker: → Most content fails not because it’s wrong, but because it’s confusing. Why clarity beats clever: → Users don’t buy what they don’t understand. → Most sites lose money because their copy makes people work too hard. → Even typo-free, grammatically correct writing can fail if it overwhelms short-term memory. Enter readability— the hidden superpower of great writing. → Short sentences → Quick resolution points → Plain verbs These help your readers “breathe” while reading. Even AI-generated content needs a human hand to sharpen, simplify & convert. Here’s how to write clearer, faster: → Speak first, then write. (Moz increased conversion 52% by doing just that.) → Edit like a human: replace “carry out an improvement initiative” with “improve the website.” → Avoid the “Official Style” that sounds smart but loses your reader halfway in. TL;DR: Great writing is easy to understand. Great editing makes it so. As AI keeps generating more, your ability to refine becomes your most profitable skill. Want your words to convert? Start by making them clear. Let’s hear it: what’s one writing habit that’s improved your clarity the most?

Feeling stuck? 😩 Growth on social doesn’t have to be scary or complicated. Oftentimes, it’s about tweaking a few basics: 1️⃣ You’re Posting… But Not Strategically Posting frequently is important, but if your content doesn’t align with your audience’s needs, it won’t get traction. Think quality over quantity—each post should offer value and speak directly to your audience’s pain points. 2️⃣ Your Profile Isn’t Fully Optimized A vague or cluttered bio is a missed opportunity. Make sure your bio clearly states who you serve, the problem you solve, and a call to action. Don’t forget to use searchable keywords! 3️⃣ You’re Not Speaking Their Language If your posts don’t sound like how your audience speaks or thinks, they won’t feel connected. Research the terms, slang, and tone your audience uses, and mirror it in your content. 4️⃣ No Clear Next Step (CTA) Every post should guide your audience to a clear next action—whether it’s engaging, following, or downloading a resource. Without a clear call-to-action, you’re leaving potential engagement on the table. 5️⃣ You’re Ignoring What’s Working Review your analytics to see what content resonates most. Double down on what’s working and stop wasting time on posts that don’t generate interest. Track engagement patterns and adjust accordingly. 🌟 Little-Known Insights 🔵 Use Alt Text for SEO: When posting images, utilize the Alt Text field to insert keywords relevant to your niche. This helps with discoverability on platforms like Instagram. 🔵 Maximize Your Name Field: On Instagram, the name field is searchable! Instead of just your name, add a keyword that describes your services (e.g., “Content Strategist”). 🔵 Pin Your Best Content: Keep high-performing, value-packed posts pinned so they’re always visible when new people check out your profile. With a few confidence-building changes, you’ll start to see growth right where it matters. It could be visibility, engagement, and/or lead generation. Did I miss anything? What’s another underrated tip to make growing on social feel less overwhelming? #GrowthOnSocialMedia #SocialMedia #ProfileOptimization #SocialMediaStrategy

Thought leadership content is a powerful way for professional services firms to showcase expertise, build trust, and position themselves as industry authorities. By providing valuable insights and addressing client concerns, you can create content that truly resonates. Here’s how: 1️⃣ Address Key Client Questions Focus on the issues that matter most to your audience. What challenges do they face? What questions do they frequently ask? Examples: “How Does the No-Fault Divorce Law Affect Me?” “Preparing for an Employment Tribunal: Essential Steps.” “What Every Small Business Owner Should Know About Tax Planning.” Tip: Use tools like Google Trends or FAQs from client interactions to identify relevant topics. 2️⃣ Provide Unique Insights Go beyond surface-level information by offering actionable advice and perspectives based on your expertise. Include anonymised case studies or client examples to demonstrate real-world applications. Explain the implications of legal changes and how clients should respond. Example: Instead of just summarising a new regulation, outline practical steps clients can take to adapt. 3️⃣ Diversify Your Formats Using different content formats helps reach a broader audience and keeps your messaging fresh. Examples: Blog posts: Dive into specific legal topics. Webinars: Host discussions on trending issues. Infographics: Visual guides for complex processes. Whitepapers: Comprehensive resources for in-depth exploration. Tip: Test different formats to see what engages your audience most effectively. 4️⃣ Prioritise Clarity and Accessibility Professional content doesn’t have to be complicated. Keep it simple and client-focused. Use clear language and avoid jargon. Clients value understanding over technical terms. Organise content with subheadings, bullet points, and visuals to make it easy to navigate. Tip: Write as if explaining to someone unfamiliar with the topic. 5️⃣ Promote Strategically Great content is only effective if it reaches your audience. Distribute it across key channels to maximise visibility. Share posts on LinkedIn, newsletters, and your website. Encourage your team to amplify the reach by sharing on their profiles. Repurpose content into smaller pieces for social media, like turning a blog into multiple LinkedIn posts. Example: Use a blog on workplace rights to create short LinkedIn tips for employees. 6️⃣ Track and Optimise Results Monitor how your content performs and use the data to refine your strategy. Metrics to Track: Page views, time on site, shares, and conversions. Tip: Identify successful topics and formats, then double down on what works best. Thought leadership isn’t just about sharing knowledge—it’s about providing value and clarity to your audience. By focusing on your clients’ needs and delivering actionable content, your firm can strengthen trust, establish authority, and inspire confidence. 💬 What topics do you think would resonate most with your clients?

STOP POSTING ON SOCIAL MEDIA (at least until you read this) Your content might be completely missing the mark. And the reason is simpler than you think. You’re creating for the wrong awareness stage. Let me break it down. There are four awareness stages your audience falls into: 1. Problem unaware: They don’t know they have a problem. 2. Problem aware: They know there’s a problem but not what to do. 3. Solution aware: They know solutions exist but haven’t chosen one. 4. Most aware: They know the solution and are ready to act. Most creators target solution-aware or most-aware audiences. But here’s the problem: That audience is tiny. The majority of your audience lives in the first two stages: • They don’t even realize they have a problem yet. • Or they know something’s wrong but feel stuck. Here’s what happens when you skip these stages: • Your content feels irrelevant to most people. • It assumes they’re ready to buy when they’re not. • You miss the chance to build real trust. What to do instead? Focus on problem unaware and problem aware: • Problem unaware: Highlight symptoms they may be feeling. ("Struggling to grow? You might be missing this...") • Problem aware: Validate their struggles and offer clarity. ("Here’s why your content strategy isn’t working.") Practical tips for creating this type of content: Start by identifying their biggest pain points. Use simple, relatable language they can connect with. Offer insights that educate, not sell—build trust first. Here’s the truth: If your content isn’t resonating, it’s likely not their fault. You’re speaking to people who aren’t ready to listen yet. Change that, and you’ll see real results. Are you ready to meet your audience where they are?

Creating a powerful content strategy isn't random... (I learned this the hard way) It’s built on: 👇 ↳ Consistency ↳ Conversion ↳ Clarity Just wingin' it in 2025 will not get you very far. 10 years ago, we could just put up a nice post or meme... Or even just a few years ago, a selfie would do.😎 But, if we're using those archaic strategies today... We are going to fall flat in our efforts.☹️ And, remember, the goal of social media... Is NOT to "Do social media all day." 📲 It is to create traffic to support business growth.🚀 There are approx 6 billion monthly social media users 97% of them are consumers We want to be in the 3% of creators who create content to drive a CALL TO ACTION(CTA)💪 But, to do that it takes more than a selfie or inspirational quote. Here is the strategy I use to drive hypergrowth:👇 ✅ Set Success Metrics First Before you create, get clear on your "why": ↳ Brand Awareness: Reach the right people, consistently. ↳ Lead Generation: Turn attention into pipeline. ↳ Thought Leadership: Show depth, not just opinions. ↳ Community Building: Spark engagement and real connection. If you don’t define success, don’t expect to measure it. ✅ Know Your Audience Deeply You’re not writing for everyone, JUST for them: ↳ What keeps them up at night? ↳ What content do they actually respond to? Speak their language - or don’t bother speaking at all. ✅ Use the Right Content Formats Different formats = different impact. The best performing NOW are carousels, billboards, infographics.🔥 Videos are not yet high converting for BIG growth, but will be soon. ↳ Billboards: Impactful strong messages that hit home ↳ Infographics: Clean visuals, shareable gems ↳ Carousels: Step-by-step, high-save value ↳ Video: Teach fast, connect faster ✅ Stay Consistent & Strategic One post won't build a brand. A system will: ↳ Show up 5-7x a week ↳ Use analytics like a hawk ↳ Test timing, formats, and hooks ↳ Play long-term games with long-term strategies. ↳ Post AMAZING content (Content is ALWAYS king) ✅ Engage Like a Human (Not a Billboard) Your post isn’t the finish line - it’s the opener: ↳ Reply to comments. Start real convos. ↳ Support other creators. Build social equity. ↳ DM your top engagers. Turn followers into partners. Content without a strategy is just noise. But with the right moves, it becomes your biggest growth engine. What part of your content strategy needs the most work right now❓ P.S.
