But many times, the real problem is not the calendar. The real problem is energy. Why? A full calendar does not always create tiredness. A scattered mind does. Working long hours is not always the issue. Working with emotional heaviness is. Some conversations drain us more than tasks. Some thoughts exhaust us more than meetings. We don’t only spend energy by doing. We also spend energy by overthinking, reacting, proving, pleasing, and worrying. Rest does not always mean sleep. Sometimes rest means silence, boundaries, clarity, and saying no. 𝐀 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐝. 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭. We can have time available and still feel empty inside. That is why tiredness should not always be treated as a scheduling problem. Sometimes it is a signal. - A signal to pause. - A signal to clean the inner clutter. - A signal to stop managing only the calendar and start managing the energies behind our thoughts, words, decisions, and actions. I’d like to share with you a decision-making technique that’s been surprisingly powerful for finding more fulfilling work or aligning with your purpose. It’s something I often use when my career or focus feels a little off. It’s simple: ask yourself, where’s my energy at? If you’re like me, you probably tend to look for logical, structured solutions to problems. This might sound a bit abstract, but it’s not. Your body is a decision-making system. When you pay attention to your personal energy, you’re really listening to how your nervous system reacts to your environment. What’s interesting is that your body often senses things before your conscious mind does. Psychology and neuroscience both support this idea. Your body picks up cues long before your brain processes them. Asking “Where’s my energy at?” can help you make small refinements to your current role, or it might show you that a bigger shift is needed. Some people track this deeply, noting posture, mood, and energy throughout the day, but you can start simply. At the end of each day, take a few quiet minutes to reflect and ask yourself: - What gave me the most energy or excitement today? - What drained me or brought my energy down today? Do this for a week or two. You’ll start to notice patterns. You’ll see what energizes you and what depletes you. When is my energy highest? When do I feel drained or off balance? When reviewing your notes, pay attention to which skills you’re using when your energy is high and whether certain people or situations lift you up or drain you. Sometimes it’s not your career that’s off; it’s a specific role, dynamic, or environment. For me, energy rises when I move into alignment. I feel most alive in moments of creativity, expression, and autonomy. For you, it might be something completely different. This exercise may sound simple, but until you actually do it, you won’t truly see where your energy is going. When reflecting on your patterns, try not to overthink. Your conscious mind will raise fears about security, finances, or what others might think. Instead, trust your body. Trust your gut. Trust your energy. Ultimately, you’re looking for that “hell yeah” moment, the feeling that tells you you’re in your sweet spot. That’s your signal. That’s where you need to go. Everyone deserves to do work that energizes them. This simple check-in can help you find the direction that feels right, one that aligns your energy, purpose, and career. If you want to go deeper, check the comments for the link to the Alignment Scorecard and see where your energy is guiding you.

Five Stories You Need to Learn: Harness the Power of Positive Storytelling 🌟 The stories we tell ourselves can shape our reality. Yesterday we discussed how negative narratives can hold us back, today, we’re flipping the script. Let's explore how you can leverage positive storytelling to unlock growth, confidence, and success in your life. By intentionally crafting empowering stories, you can rewrite your inner dialogue and open doors to new possibilities. Here are five transformative stories you need to learn: The Reframing Story Reframe the Narrative: We all experience moments of self-doubt. Instead of letting these moments define you, change the story. Transform “I can’t do this” into “I’m learning and growing every day.” Embrace mistakes as stepping stones to success. 🔄 The Achievement Story Celebrate Successes: Acknowledge the hurdles you’ve overcome and the milestones you’ve reached. Keeping a journal of your wins helps you see your progress clearly and builds confidence. 🏆 The Future Success Story Visualise Your Goals: Envision your future self as confident and accomplished. This not only boosts motivation but also guides your actions toward achieving your dreams. 🚀 The Resilience Story Reflect on Resilience: Recall times you’ve faced challenges and emerged stronger. These stories remind you of your strength and ability to overcome adversity. 💪 The Values Story Align with Values: Ensure your stories reflect your core values, such as integrity, kindness, or innovation. This builds authenticity and confidence, helping you stay true to yourself. 🌟 By learning and telling these positive stories, you can transform your inner dialogue and empower yourself to thrive. Remember, the most powerful story is the one you tell yourself. P.S.: What’s a positive story you tell yourself that fuels your success? Share it with us in the comments! P.P.S. Photo below is me pushing a sled of 152kg in weight. At the start of the year, I didn't think I could but I did. Now this moment is part of my positive stories portfolio!

Your job as a leader isn’t to do everyone else’s job. A CEO I worked with taught me something profound about perfectionism: It doesn’t just exhaust us—it often keeps us from the very work that most energizes us. Melanie ran a large nonprofit, but she was on the verge of quitting when I met her. Her self-critic – always pushing for perfection—prompted her to jump into every problem, micromanaging details, draining her energy, and gradually disconnecting her from the sense of mission that originally drew her to the work. Her turning point came when I asked Melanie a simple question: What truly fuels your energy, and what depletes it? By trying to be on top of every detail, Melanie realized that she was spending less time doing what fueled her passion, drew on her greatest skills, and nourished her. For that, she had to: 1. Spend more time with employees and clients. 2. Connect with other leaders in the field. 3. Interact more with the clients that her organization served. Melanie literally redesigned her calendar to delegate more administrative tasks to her team, and build in more time for what gave her the most energy. She discovered that her team might not always do the work the way she would have, but that the difference wasn’t material. As she tapped into more positive energy at work, the impact was contagious. Melanie’s team members felt better. A vicious cycle leading to exhaustion evolved into more of a virtuous circle. Want to change the way you feel and others feel in your workplace? Get very clear about the activities that give you energy, and those that deplete it. Even a few adjustments in the way you invest your time and energy can dramatically change the way you feel. It’s an inside job.

  • 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭: 𝐀 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 In our fast-paced world, feeling constantly drained is all too common, but what if the key to surviving and thriving lies in our ability to manage our energy? An “Energy Audit” provides a strategic approach to unlock your full potential by maximising how you expend and replenish your energy. Managing our energy effectively is essential for achieving both short-term tasks and long-term goals. It goes beyond merely keeping us awake; it’s about enhancing our overall quality of life through sustainable performance and well-being. To truly harness this power, consider conducting a thorough “Energy Audit” with these steps: 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐡𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐦𝐬: Recognise the times of day when you feel most alert and productive. Are you a morning person, or does your energy peak in the evening? Tailoring your work schedule to these natural rhythms can drastically improve your output. 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 & 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬: List activities and people that increase or sap your energy. This awareness allows you to focus on what truly invigorates you and minimise or alter interactions that drain you. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: Incorporate activities into your daily routine that replenish your energy. Whether it's a quick walk, meditation, or a hobby you love, these are crucial for maintaining stamina. 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭: Regularly assess your energy levels and adjust your activities and schedules as needed. This continuous feedback loop is key to optimising your energy management strategy. Managing our energy is a profound journey of self-discovery and adaptation. In my coaching journey, I’ve observed that clients who pay attention to their energy patterns and intentionally plan their day around them achieve more and are significantly happier and less stressed. This proactive energy management approach empowers us to meet and exceed our personal and professional goals. Remember, every step to understand and adjust our energy usage is a step towards a more balanced and fulfilling life. Are you ready to transform your day-to-day experience by mastering your energy?  Begin your audit today and step into a more productive and vibrant life! #EnergyManagement #ProductivityBoost #LifeBalance #WellbeingJourney #PeakPerformance #CoachSharath

  • Leadership impact is determined before you speak. Not by personality or charisma, but by the energy you bring into the room. People instinctively sense whether you’re grounded or rushed, open or tense, present or already somewhere else. Your energy sets the tone for every interaction that follows, meetings, decisions, collaboration, trust. This is why energy management isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s a core leadership competency. And no, I’m not talking about the obvious basics like sleep, food or exercise, important as they are. I’m talking about the less visible energy drivers that quietly shape how you lead every day: 💫 Your daily activities We all have a unique constellation of talents, a mix of energy givers and energy drainers. These directly affect how you show up. ↳ What to do: Become aware of your personal mix. Look at where you can lean into energy givers more and reduce exposure to drainers. 💫 Words Spoken words, and the ones you repeat silently, carry energy. They shape your mental state and emotional availability. ↳ What to do: Notice the stories you tell yourself and others. Practice reframing and observe the shift in your energy. 💫 Stress level Chronic stress quietly leaks energy and narrows mental clarity. ↳ What to do: Use simple, accessible interventions: deep breathing, short walks, journaling, especially during full days. 💫 Joy and connection Sustainable energy comes from moments of meaning and genuine connection. ↳ What to do: Intentionally protect time for people and activities that uplift you—even (and especially) in busy periods. 💫 Physical environment Your surroundings send constant signals to your nervous system. ↳ What to do: Pay attention to how your workspace feels. Small changes in light, order or layout can make a noticeable difference. Leadership requires clarity, resilience, and the ability to inspire trust. When you manage your energy consciously, you lead from a different place, and people feel it. And here’s the bonus many leaders overlook: Energy doesn’t stop with you. It spreads. Your energy sets the pace and creates a ripple effect for the people around you. So ask yourself: What changes when you become more intentional about the energy you bring in the room? 📅 9 Dec 2025

Before you manage your schedule, learn to manage what fuels it: your energy. Every morning, you wake up with a full jug. Not of time. Not of motivation. Of energy. The problem is that most people spend it as if they'll get a refill by lunch. They won't. You pour some into work. A little into family. Maybe a little into exercise. What's left goes to everything else. Then you wonder why you are exhausted before the day is over. Your brain doesn't measure how much energy you have. It measures where it feels rewarded. Every notification... Every unnecessary argument... Every doomscrolling session... Every decision you didn't need to make... Your brain gives away tiny drops of energy without asking your permission. By evening, you don't feel tired because you worked hard. You feel tired because your attention was constantly interrupted. Psychologists call this decision fatigue and attention residue. Every unfinished task and every context switch leaves a small part of your mind behind, making the next task feel harder than it actually is. That's why a 10-minute distraction can steal an hour of productive thinking. The people who seem to "have more energy" usually don't. They are simply more intentional about where they pour it. Protect your energy before you protect your schedule. Because your calendar tells you where your time went. Your energy determines the quality of the life you lived while that time passed. #Psychology #Mindset #PersonalGrowth #Leadership #Productivity

There’s a quiet honesty in noticing what drains you. Most people assume burnout arrives in one dramatic moment, but it rarely does. It’s the slow accumulation of small, unexamined habits: too much screen time, inconsistent sleep, clutter that never quite gets dealt with, the emotional weight of resentment or fear. These aren’t moral failings; they’re signals. They show you where your system is overloaded, where your energy is leaking, and where you’ve been coping instead of living. At the same time, your body and mind are always offering you ways back to steadiness. Energy givers tend to be simple, almost deceptively so: sunlight, hydration, movement, a moment of breathwork, a walk in nature, a consistent bedtime. These aren’t glamorous interventions, but they’re powerful because they work with your biology rather than against it. They create the conditions for clarity, resilience, and emotional spaciousness. What’s striking is how often the energy givers are things we tell ourselves we “don’t have time for,” even though they’re the very things that restore the time we lose to stress, distraction, and fatigue. When you choose rest over overworking, or whole food over convenience, or community over isolation, you’re not being indulgent; you’re recalibrating your nervous system. You’re choosing to live from a place of intention rather than reactivity. This isn’t about perfection. You will have days where the energy takers win, where you scroll too long, sleep too little, or carry someone else’s negativity home with you. That’s human. What matters is the pattern you return to. The more you practise noticing what nourishes you, the easier it becomes to shift back toward the habits that support your wellbeing rather than erode it. Ultimately, energy is a form of self-respect. When you choose the things that give you energy movement, sunlight, gratitude, courage, learning you’re choosing to show up for your life with more presence and more capacity. And when you gently reduce the things that drain you, you create space for a version of yourself that feels more grounded, more connected, and more alive.

Ever wondered, you manage your time perfectly. Schedule's packed. Tasks completed. So why do you still feel exhausted and unaccomplished? I noticed something about my own workdays. My calendar was full. Tasks were getting done. But some days felt more impactful than others even with the same amount of work. That's when I realized – I was optimizing the wrong thing. I wasn't tracking my energy. Some hours, I'm sharp. Clear-headed. Ready to solve complex problems. Other hours, I'm just going through the motions. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝: I started matching my tasks to my energy, not just my availability. → High energy mornings? Strategic decisions. Critical conversations. Deep problem-solving. → Moderate energy afternoons? Team meetings. Planning sessions. Follow-ups. → Low energy evenings? Emails. Admin work. Light reviews. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. Better decisions. Clearer thinking. More impact in less time. And I stopped feeling drained because I wasn't forcing high-stakes work during low-energy windows. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲: Notice when you feel sharpest during the day. Then ask: Am I using those hours for my most important work? Or am I wasting them on tasks that don't need my best thinking? Energy is your most valuable resource. Protect it like you protect your time. And watch how much more you accomplish – without burning out. #energy #productivity #leadership #burnout #career #efficiency #growth #mindset

Your Personal Battery Needs a Recharge We’re not machines — we’re corporate athletes. And every day, we’re running a marathon without refueling. You leave home full of energy… But by the time you return — you’re tired, drained, and empty. Dinner. Bed. Repeat. No life — only work. Your energy depletes silently every day: Work stress drains your emotional energy. Repeating interruptions and muda meetings drain your mental energy. Long hours and skipped meals drain your physical energy. A lack of purpose and recognition drains your spiritual energy. The Goal Not to manage your time — but to manage your energy. Time is finite. Energy can be renewed and even expanded. The Root Cause We schedule tasks but forget to schedule recovery. We charge our phones every night — but never charge ourselves. The Solution: Build Daily Energy Rituals Treat yourself like a smartphone — your battery needs topping up during the day. Try these simple rituals to renew your energy every 90–120 minutes: Take a 15-minute break. Step away from your desk, breathe, and stretch. Do what you love — listen to a song, call a friend, or take a short walk. Appreciate someone. Send a thank-you note, compliment a colleague. Crack a joke and laugh. Laughter resets your emotional balance. Take a bite of chocolate. A small sugar boost keeps your focus alive. Each small ritual recharges one of your batteries — physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. When you manage your energy, not just your schedule, you perform better, lead better, and live better. Because the real power isn’t in your calendar — it’s in your charge ⚡
