From Raw Sales Data to Actionable Insights: My B&J Biscuit Sales Dashboard When I first opened the B&J Biscuit dataset, it was messy. Dates weren’t in date format, customer details were scattered across columns, and product codes had no context. It didn’t look like much… but I saw a story waiting to be told. 📊 What I Built I created an interactive 3‑dashboard Excel solution, powered by VBA macros and slicers, to help the business answer three big questions: ▪️Who buys our products and where? ▪️Which products and sales reps drive the most revenue? ▪️How do sales and profits trend over time? 🔹 Key Insights Revenue is heavily concentrated in premium products and one star sales rep. Q4 sales collapsed, raising red flags for campaign planning and seasonality. Chocolate Delight consistently underperforms, while Shortbread and Vanilla Wafers dominate. Our core customers are 30+ years old and shop mostly on weekdays. 💡 Interactive Features Toggle instantly between absolute values and percentages. Use a slicer‑reset macro to clear all filters with one click. Dynamic KPI labels make the dashboard feel “alive,” updating with every selection. This project transformed a messy spreadsheet into executive‑ready intelligence, proving that Excel plus storytelling can drive powerful decision‑making. 🔗 See the full project and dashboards(including it’s live preview) here: https://lnkd.in/d2EVgTH9 If you were B&J Biscuits, how would you tackle the Q4 sales drop? #Datafam #DataAnalytics #ExcelDashboards #DatAnalysis #DataVisualization

A week ago I wrote a post about HubSpot moving their reports off PDFs and onto interactive web experiences. It made sense. It also put me on the spot. Our own State of B2B Demand Generation report was finally ready to publish as a 15-page PDF. Static and identical for every reader, whether they run demand gen at a 50-person startup or a global enterprise. So we stopped and rebuilt it. The report is now an interactive experience. Filterable by industry and company size. A demand gen leader at a mid-market software company sees how their peers actually responded, not a blended average that describes no one. Reports should become products, not downloads. They can include filters, calculators, benchmarks, personalized results, videos, and dynamic recommendations that help readers do something with the information. The lesson we are taking forward is simple: stop defaulting to the PDF. Start by asking what the reader needs to do with the data, then build around that.

This Regional Sales Dashboard has been quietly sitting in my Tableau profile since July… but now that I’m back from my little unofficial “split hiatus,” it’s only right to finally let this cat out of the bag 😄 Ever wondered which states are truly driving your sales or which products quietly carry the weight of your revenue? That’s exactly what this Sales Performance Dashboard was built to uncover. Instead of drowning in endless reports, leaders can now: 📊 Track sales, profit, and quantity trends across YTD, QTD, and MTD views 🔍 Drill into categories like Technology, Furniture, and Office Supplies to spot what’s performing 🚚 Compare shipping methods to reveal customer preferences and delivery efficiency 🌍 Identify which states are thriving and which ones need attention The best part? It’s fully interactive. Hover. Click. Filter. You can move effortlessly from the big picture to the smallest detail without ever losing context. Because data shouldn’t just inform you… it should guide you. 👉 Explore the viz here: https://lnkd.in/deXyQXwH Big shoutout to Victory Omovrah and Jennifer Eneh for the valuable feedback 🙌 PS: This dashboard runs on a fun mix of Dynamic Zone Visibility, Parameters & Parameter Actions, and Set Actions to power the interactivity. 🚀 #Tableau #DataStorytelling #Analytics #DataDriven #DataViz #DataFam

A New Power BI Dashboard! 🚀 I'm excited to share one of my recent projects where I built an interactive dashboard using dummy data. The goal was to provide a clear, comprehensive view of a company's sales and revenue, answering some key business questions. The dashboard's main purpose is to help stakeholders quickly understand: 1. Where to focus our support and resources. By analyzing the data, we can see that our top-performing regions are Asia and North America. While these regions are strong, there's a significant opportunity to grow our market share in Europe. Similarly, the data shows that Electronics and Home Appliances are our highest-revenue product categories, making them prime candidates for continued support and marketing efforts. 2. The relationship between revenue and sales. This dashboard allows us to compare revenue directly to sales figures. Interestingly, North America shows the highest revenue at $36.8K despite selling fewer units than Asia. This suggests that customers in North America have the highest purchasing power, buying more expensive items or larger bundles. This insight is crucial for tailoring pricing strategies and product promotions to specific regional markets. This project was a great exercise in visualizing complex data to deliver actionable insights. It's a powerful reminder of how business intelligence can drive strategic decisions. What's a key question you've answered using data recently? I'd love to hear about it! Feel free to comment with any feedback or questions you have. #DataVisualization #BusinessIntelligence #Analytics #Dashboard #DataAnalyst

🚀A good forecast isn’t just helpful, it’s everything. In my recent project, I built an interactive dashboard to track and forecast sales across global customer segments and product lines. What started as rows of raw numbers turned into a clear picture of how the business is doing, and where it's headed. 📌 With features like: Cumulative sales vs forecast tracking Profit breakdown by customer segments and countries Product growth insights Weekly sales trends Discount band analysis I was able to help highlight what’s working, what’s not, and what actions to take next. One key insight? The Enterprise segment showed a significant downturn in profit, which may have gone unnoticed without comparing it to forecasted goals. 💡 This reminded me that good forecasting isn't just about planning, it's about staying ahead, spotting red flags early, and giving decision-makers the confidence to act. Built using: Power Query, DAX and Power BI If you're working with data and not using it to see forward, you might only be getting half the story. #datafam

Most breweries rely on POS systems for taproom reporting, but they often fall short when it comes to deeper analysis. You might know if your sales are up or down, but do you know why? Try this approach: Break down your sales into key metrics: 1. Total checks 2. Average check size 3. Quantity per check 4. Avg sales per unit Once you have these, compare last week’s performance to your recent run rate, the same week last year, and your long-term trends. This gives you a more complete picture, helping you avoid chasing outliers and false signals. Want to get even sharper? Analyze performance all the way down to individual menu items. That’s how you identify where to take action and make real improvements. All this in a spreadsheet? It’s going to be pretty complex and slow. An interactive dashboard simplifies the process. With just a few clicks, you can drill down, spot trends, and make decisions with confidence. Here’s a quick video that shows you how easy it can be. Cheers! #craftbeer #taproom #restaurant #beerbiz #brewery
