Nurture leads with trust

Explore top LinkedIn content from expert professionals.

Summary

Nurturing leads with trust means building genuine relationships with potential customers over time, instead of pushing for quick sales. This approach focuses on consistent, thoughtful engagement to help people feel comfortable, informed, and understood before they decide to buy.

  • Show real understanding: Take time to learn about each lead’s needs and interests, and personalize your communication to reflect that knowledge.
  • Share proof and value: Use stories, data, and helpful resources to demonstrate credibility and reinforce your reliability without making assumptions.
  • Engage consistently: Build trust by interacting regularly, offering support, and staying visible so leads remember you when they’re ready to make decisions.

Marketing isn’t a funnel. It’s a maze 👇👇👇 HOW YOU THINK PROSPECTS BECOME CUSTOMERS 📢 See the ad → Click → Buy HOW THEY ACTUALLY BECOME ONE 📢 See the ad → Ignore → See the ad again → Scroll past → Talk to friends → Forget about it → Get reminded in conversation → See a competitor’s ad → Research options → Compare prices → Read reviews → Check Reddit & Quora → Watch YouTube videos → Browse website → Abandon cart → Forget again → See remarketing ad → Drop a lead → Get email reminder → Consider it seriously → Discuss with spouse/friend/colleague → Delay decision → Get a discount offer → Still hesitate → Call customer service → Reconsider → Sleep on it → Finally… BUY And if they don’t? 🔄 The cycle repeats. THE REALITY Most businesses overestimate the speed of conversion and underestimate the patience required to nurture leads. People don’t just buy; they decide to buy. And that decision is shaped by repeated exposure, credibility, social proof, and urgency. ✅ Marketing isn’t a straight line ✅ It’s a psychological journey, not a quick transaction ✅ Every touchpoint matters: → Ads create awareness → Social proof builds credibility → Word of mouth creates trust → Content nurtures interest → Customer experience seals the deal ✅ If your ads aren’t converting, ask yourself: → Are you guiding prospects through the process? → Or just expecting instant sales? ✅ Brand trust is built in the gaps between exposure and decision. ✅ Play the long game. 💡 ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ 💬 Let me know what you think 👉 Follow Anand Sankaranarayanan for brand stories & strategies 🔗 Share this if it's helpful! ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ #Marketing #Brand #Strategy #ConsumerBehavior #Purchase

Everyone talks about finding leads. But no one talks about what happens after that. Leads don’t magically turn into clients. It’s what you do after they show up that matters. Let’s fix that today👇 Here’s a simple tactical plan to manage your leads: 1️⃣ Organize your leads properly. → Track every inquiry (no matter how small). → Use a simple CRM like Notion, Airtable, or Trello. → For advanced users, consider HubSpot or GoHighLevel. → Tag leads by source, interest, and stage of readiness. → Review and update your list weekly without fail. 2️⃣ Nurture and engage intentionally. → Send a warm “thank you for connecting” message. → Share helpful resources before pitching anything. → Comment on their posts and engage on their content. → Add them to your email list with permission. → Follow up at least 3-4x before giving up. 3️⃣ Convert with simple, clear offers. → Don’t overwhelm them with a complicated sales pitch. → Offer a quick clarity call or a helpful audit session. → Share clear outcomes, not just deliverables. → Focus on how you solve their specific pain point. → Make your next step easy and actionable. 4️⃣ Delegate and automate where possible. → Hire a VA to manage lead tracking and follow-ups. → Use tools like Calendly to book calls automatically. → Set up email sequences for nurture and reminders. → Use CRM reminders to follow up on dormant leads. → Free yourself from chasing every detail manually. The coaching business isn’t just about finding leads. It’s about managing, nurturing, and converting them. Do this well — and you’ll never worry about leads again. PS: How are you currently managing your leads?

If your outreach sounds like: “Can you support our cause?” You’re setting yourself up for crickets. Instead, lead with value: “Hey [Name], I noticed your company’s recent CSR initiative on [topic]. We’re working on something similar and thought you’d find our latest insights valuable. Would love your thoughts!” This shows that you’re informed, aligned, and genuinely interested—l, building credibility from the start. 2. Use Sales Navigator to find the right people fast. Forget the guesswork. Here’s what works: • Advanced Search: Find CSR managers and decision-makers who align with your mission. • Lead Lists: Track potential sponsors and organize them by industry or giving priorities. • Custom Alerts: Stay on top of when your target companies post new content. These features don’t just help you connect, they help you engage meaningfully. 3. Build a pipeline, not just a list. Don’t make the mistake of treating contacts as one-off opportunities. Instead: • Use Tags and Notes to track each conversation and plan personalized follow-ups. • Segment leads by industry, donation history, and shared goals. • Make every interaction count: Comment on their successes, share relevant insights, and be genuinely curious. Nonprofits that follow this approach often report 2x the engagement rate compared to cold outreach. 4. Share data to build trust. Corporate decision-makers are data-driven. Use numbers to make your case: • “We increased corporate donations by 40% in 2024 by prioritizing relationship-building over one-time asks.” • “Nonprofits collaborating with companies on community projects see a 20% boost in employee retention.” • “Last year, we impacted over 1,200 families thanks to partnerships like yours.” Data proves your success and positions you as a credible, results-focused partner. 5. The key is to be visible, consistent, and genuine. Over time, this builds familiarity and trust. ⸻ 6. Involve your whole team. Fundraising shouldn’t rest on one person’s shoulders. • I get about 20 cold emails a month from financial advisors. Not one has made me think, “Wow, they really know me.” (Which is funny… because I’m the Founder & CEO of a WealthTech platform that helps advisors not send emails like that 😅.) Recently I even got a few from advisors at the same firm where I’ve been a happy client for years. (Hey, we’ve all had CRM hiccups, but maybe worth a quick check before hitting send!) Here’s the thing: these advisors are working hard. They’re doing what they’ve been taught to do. And I applaud their effort. But today’s clients, especially women and NextGen investors, don’t want another pitch. They want a person. At Willow, we see what happens when advisors make that shift. When they lead with curiosity and empathy instead of credentials and closing lines, everything changes. Why? Because real connection outperforms cold outreach. In fact, we see up to 5x higher closing rates than industry average for LeadGen programs. Here are a few quick ways to help make your outreach actually land: 1. Google before you greet. Take two minutes to look them up. If you mention their company, show you know what they do. 2. Check the CRM. It’s a quick win and avoids emailing your own firm’s clients. 3. Lead with curiosity. Ask about their goals, values, or story before talking about your solutions or research. Empathy isn’t fluff. It’s how trust (and business) gets built today. And who knows? Your next message might be the one that makes someone think,“Wow, they really get me.” 🍃 Warmly, Lacy #Entrepreneurship, #DigitalMarketing, #PersonalBranding

SALES PEOPLE PAY ATTENTION: Every day, my inbox fills with sales emails that begin with an assumption: “You’re struggling with X.” “Your firm is probably doing Y wrong.” “We can fix your problem.” Those emails usually earn two things: a trip to the junk folder and a blocked sender. Offensive really. Here’s why. The foundation of any successful vendor relationship is trust. Trust isn’t built by assuming a prospective client is failing. It’s built by demonstrating expertise, credibility, and genuine understanding of their business. Want to get my attention? 👂Share a real client success story. 👂 Show me measurable results and outcomes. 👂 Teach me something I don’t already know. 👂 Sponsor and support the industries and communities you serve. 👂 Get a warm introduction from someone I trust. 👂 Demonstrate that you’ve taken the time to understand my organization before reaching out!! The best sales professionals don’t lead with assumptions. They lead with insights. They don’t tell me what’s broken. They show me what’s possible. Business leaders are constantly evaluating opportunities to improve. But if your first interaction suggests you know more about my business than I do, you’ve already created a credibility gap that is difficult to overcome. Relationships matter. Reputation matters. Trust matters. Lead with those, and you’ll stand out from the hundreds of emails that never make it past the delete/junk button.

To build a legal practice, you must build genuine, long-lasting relationships. Here's a simple framework—CONNECT—to do just that: Communicate Effectively: Approach every conversation with a clear purpose. Take time to understand what matters to the prospective client—then speak directly to those needs. Offer Value: Provide insights, resources, or connections before expecting anything in return. Nurture Relationships: Follow up regularly and consistently. Relationships are built over time, not overnight. Network Strategically: Attend events and join organizations where your ideal clients and referral sources spend their time and attention. Empathize and Listen: Show genuine interest in your clients’ challenges and listen actively. Consistently Deliver (Before You're Hired): Reliability builds trust. Show up prepared. Follow through on promises. Share relevant insights or resources. When prospective clients see that you’re consistent and dependable—even in early conversations—they’re more likely to believe you’ll deliver when it really counts. Track and Adjust: Regularly review your efforts, identify what’s working, and refine your approach. Build trust. Add value. Stay top of mind. That’s how you CONNECT with prospective clients.

Companies that nurture leads close 50% more sales. 8 ways to show up when they're not ready to buy  (without sounding salesy) Sales isn't a sprint. It's a marathon that rewards patience. When you chase only quotas, you ironically miss them. The moment you shift from selling to helping,  everything changes. Revenue becomes the byproduct of relationships. Why does this matter now? Nurtured leads spend 47% more than cold contacts. 63% who say "not now" will become customers later. Your competitors are still playing the numbers game. Meanwhile, the relationship-builders quietly dominate. These 8 approaches turn prospects into lifelong clients: 1. Send Curated Insights ➟ Share a relevant article. ➟ Tailor it to their challenge or goal. ➟ Position yourself as a trusted filter. 2. Make Strategic Intros ➟ Introduce them to someone valuable. ➟ Think: peer, mentor, or future hire. ➟ This builds goodwill fast. 3. Offer a Micro Win ➟ Share a helpful tool or mini-audit. ➟ Make it easy to use right now. ➟ No pitch. Just value. 4. Host a Casual Catch-Up ➟ Invite them for virtual coffee. ➟ Ask what’s new in their world. ➟ No pressure, just presence. 5. Surprise with Thoughtfulness ➟ Send a quick voice memo or note. ➟ Simple, human, and memorable. ➟ They won’t forget it. 6. Create a Cliffhanger ➟ Share a teaser insight. ➟ Spark curiosity, not a sales push. ➟ Let them ask for more. 7. Give a Spotlight ➟ Shine a light on their wins. ➟ Celebrate them on LinkedIn. ➟ Make them feel seen. 8. Ask a Great Question ➟ Go beyond small talk. ➟ Ask about their goals or roadblocks. ➟ Start a real conversation. I've seen it time and again in my career: When you help without expecting anything, clients remember you when they're ready. Your mindset becomes your advantage. The sale happens almost as an afterthought. Try just one approach this week. Watch how naturally deals begin to flow. 📌Follow Mo Bunnell for client-growth strategies  that don’t feel like selling. How to Build a Sustainable Pipeline Using Content, Not Cold Outreach Now don't get me wrong. Cold outreach is alive - more than ever. It just took a different form - Content. When you apply this consistently: Cold ➡ Warm In essence, the real sales power today lies in building a content-driven pipeline that consistently attracts the right leads - without the pushy tactics. ==================== Here’s how to do it:👇 1. Define Your Audience Action: Get crystal clear on who you’re speaking to. Narrow down your target audience—what are their pain points, goals, and challenges? Pro Tip: Build content specifically for their needs, not just generic material. Your audience should feel like you’re speaking directly to them. 2. Consistent Value, No Pitch Action: Create content that solves problems. Focus on educational posts, guides, and case studies that provide real value without immediately asking for anything in return. Pro Tip: When you consistently deliver value, you become top-of-mind, and prospects come to you when they’re ready. 3. Leverage Case Studies and Stories Action: People connect with stories, not hard sells. Share case studies that demonstrate how you helped others overcome challenges, and make sure they’re relatable to your target audience. Pro Tip: Focus on the results, not just the features. Show how you impacted real businesses with real outcomes. 4. Use Social Proof to Build Trust Action: Showcase testimonials, reviews, and user-generated content to boost credibility. People trust what others say about you more than what you say about yourself. Pro Tip: Incorporate social proof in your content regularly—highlight wins, results, and satisfied clients. 5. Engage and Nurture Action: Don’t just post and disappear. Engage with your audience—respond to comments, ask questions, and start discussions. It’s about building a relationship, not just delivering content. Pro Tip: Start a newsletter or email list to nurture leads over time, providing even more value and keeping them in your ecosystem. ==================== Bonus: Start Writing Now (Here’s How) Action: If you’re not writing yet, start by sharing simple takeaways from your experiences. It could be lessons you’ve learned, challenges you’ve overcome, or even questions you’re still pondering. Pro Tip: You don’t need to be a professional writer. Start small - post once a week, and focus on giving value, not trying to sound perfect. The more you share, the more your audience will see you as a go-to resource. Building a pipeline through content isn’t about quick wins. It’s about creating long-term sustainability, where you build a community instead of a pipeline. Do you think this is a game-changer? You've finally got your coaching or training offer dialled in, and it's time to sell it, right? Wrong! Next step is NOT to sell your offer. Focus on nurturing relationships After 13 years of designing and selling learning and development programs in the B2B and B2C space, I've learned a thing or two. People buy from those they trust Take the time to get to know your potential clients. Build relationships with them. These efforts will pay off in the long run. So, break up the buying journey Instead of a hard sell, offer value first. There varying levels of commitment to engage with you and your expertise. Take smaller steps and invite to the next. Examples of steps you can offer 🪜 Post content ↳ demonstrate empathy with insights & tips 🪜 Give away a free resource ↳ solves a specific problem 🪜 Offer free workshops ↳ showcase your expertise. 🪜 Invite to a limited free consultation ↳ Give away your strategy The goal is to be of service Make your audience feel understood, valued, and confident in your ability to help them achieve their goals. So, before you jump into selling your offer Take these steps. You'll build a stronger connection. And increase the chances of a sale. ~~ ♻️ Share if you found useful ✍️ What's one step you've taken to build trust with your audience before selling? Drop a comment below! Share your experience

You've reeled in a boatload of leads. Great job! But wait... why aren't they turning into customers? Here's the cold, hard truth: 79% of marketing leads never convert into sales. That's right, folks. All that effort, time, and money is spent on lead generation, and most of it is wasted. Why? Because too many companies treat lead nurturing like a game of hot potato. It's time to stop treating leads like numbers and treat them like people. Effective lead nurturing is about building relationships, not just sending endless emails. We were assisting a Fintech startup from the UK that had AP Solutions. Before we began the project, I had a Zoom call with the CEO, who seemed lost due to spending money on leads. This is what he was telling over the zoom call, looking all lost. "We generated 300 leads in the last 2 months," he sighs, stirring his third espresso. "But our sales team is drowning, and our conversion rate is in the toilet." Sounds familiar? His company was making classic lead nurturing blunders: 1. Treating all leads the same (one-size-fits-all rarely fits anyone) 2. Bombarding leads with sales pitches (nothing says "we care," like 15 emails in 3 days, right?) 3. Handing leads to sales too soon (like trying to harvest tomatoes while they're still green) We took up the challenge and this is what we did. 1. Implemented lead scoring (not all leads are created equal, folks) 2. Created personalized nurturing tracks (because people like to feel special, who knew?) 3. Developed educational content (teach, don't just sell) Fast-forward three months. The Company's conversion rate jumped from 2% to 8% and revenue is up 35%. Listen up, team. Lead nurturing isn't about pestering people until they buy or die. It's about building trust and providing value. Here's the real deal: 1. Patience pays off. Nurtured leads make 47% larger purchases than non-nurtured leads (Annuitas Group). Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither are customer relationships. 2. Content is king. 95% of buyers choose a solution provider that "Provides them with ample content to help navigate through each stage of the buying process" (DemandGen Report). So, put down the sales pitch and pick up that educational content. 3. Timing is everything. 35-50% of sales go to the vendor that responds first (InsideSalesdotcom). But reacting first doesn't mean immediately pushing for a sale. It means being there when your lead needs you. 4. Personalization is not optional. Personalized emails improve click-through rates by 14% and conversion rates by 10% (Aberdeen). Are you struggling with lead nurturing? You're not alone. Comment about your biggest challenge, and let's brainstorm solutions together! #LeadNurturing #SalesStrategy #StartupGrowth #RevenueGeneration #SaaS #Sales #marketing #innovation #futureis #leads
