In college, I made YouTube videos no one watched. I changed one thing and we hit 100k views. Earlier, it was only me in the videos, giving 'gyan' on a topic. Later, I went to the campus cafeteria with a DSLR camera, rode shotgun microphone and joby tripod to ask the college students questions like: “What’s your most embarrassing campus moment?” “Who has the worst attendance in your class?” The videos started blowing up. Because it wasn’t focused on me anymore. It was about them (or their friends). 👉 If your audience doesn’t see themselves in your content, they scroll. Which is why - even now, with a bigger stage, more events and better lighting - I still say no to 99% of ‘standard’ selfie or event format posts. I don’t post 37 photos from an event only because the lighting was good. Instead, I like to pick one raw moment like a thought that I was thinking about in the cab ride back to the airport. Or I prefer to ask 5 people the same question and compile their answers in a video like this → https://lnkd.in/dN6GvThw Something real. Emotional. Human. Honestly, I don't care for the Times Square billboard flex. Or the “I ranked #1 on Favikon in India this year” posts. Or the "100,000 people follow me" on LinkedIn. Cool to win - but cooler when people win something because of you. So before I post anything, I often ask myself: → Is this post about me or is there something in it for them? → Will this make someone say, ‘Damn, I’ve felt that too’? → Will they want to share it with their friends? If the answer is no, then I don’t post it. #ContentWithContext #Storytelling #PersonalBranding

I often hear things like: "Just add a few clips and put some music, it’s hardly a 30-minute task, right?" "Why is this taking so long? It’s just a simple video." "Do something new but quickly?" Many people think making a video is as simple as cutting clips and adding music. But behind every engaging video, there’s a process — creative, technical, and time-consuming. Here’s what really goes into it, step by step: 1️⃣ Idea & Concept — Every great video starts with a clear idea & purpose. No shortcuts here. 2️⃣ Scriptwriting — Words that resonate, inform, and engage your audience. 3️⃣ Finding the Perfect Stock Videos / Footage — Searching for high-quality clips that fit the mood, message, and style. 4️⃣ Voiceover Recording — Crystal-clear narration that connects emotionally. 5️⃣ Design Elements (Graphics, Text Animations) — Visuals that enhance the story, not clutter it. 6️⃣ Choosing the Right Music / Sound Design — The soul of the video. Sets the tone & keeps viewers hooked. 7️⃣ Transitions & Effects — Smooth, subtle, but impactful. Makes everything flow seamlessly. 8️⃣ Final Editing & Syncing Everything — Where all the puzzle pieces come together perfectly. 👉 It’s not magic. It’s method, patience, and creativity. 👉 Respect the process. Value the craft. #VideoEditing #ContentCreation #CreativeProcess #BehindTheScenes #BrandStorytelling

There’s a big difference between 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵 and 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨. A 10-second social reel might get a few easy likes (vanity metrics, mostly). But a well-produced, story-driven video has the power to 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘬… To shape how people see your business, your culture, and your impact. Take Bronte Webb from Martinus Rail. Her journey as an apprentice isn’t just another corporate highlight reel, it’s a story that puts a face to opportunity, growth, and the future of the industry. A quick social reel wouldn’t do it justice. A longer-form piece allows the story to breathe, giving the audience time to connect, engage, and truly feel something. A well-crafted video can: - Build credibility and trust in your business - Strengthen brand perception (quality content = a quality company) - Showcase real people and real impact - not just quick sugar hits - Shift how your audience feels about your company, not just what they know Marketing and b2b content creation isn’t just about pushing content out there, it’s about taking the time to tell the business stories that matter most to your audience. That’s what makes a B2b brand more memorable, and leads to better business outcomes. Social reels certainly have their place. But the best content isn’t the quickest to produce. It’s the content that leaves a lasting impression. More companies in the industry need to get this balance right. And the marketing and comms managers that understand this will generate better business outcomes longterm from the marketing content they create. If your company had the chance to tell a truly powerful story, what would it be?

For 10 years, Swasthya Swaraj has been tirelessly working to bring healthcare to tribal communities in Kalahandi, Odisha - a region totally isolated from mainstream services. Their journey is one of resilience and impact. But how do you capture a decade of transformation? Here’s what we did: - Merged photos, videos and motion graphics. - Used authentic voices and folk music to connect the narrative to the community. - Incorporated tribal motifs to reflect cultural identity. - Highlighted milestones with bold typography and key facts. The result? A story of trust and change, told with the people, not just about them. Because great storytelling isn’t just about what you’ve done—it’s about who you’ve impacted. Authentic, human-centred storytelling inspires action, builds trust and moves people to care. Video content is one of the most effective tools for engaging audiences and simplifying complex topics. For law firms, it’s an opportunity to showcase expertise, connect with potential clients, and build trust in a relatable way. Here’s how to create impactful video marketing: 1️⃣ Use Videos to Simplify Complex Topics Legal concepts can feel overwhelming, but short, clear videos can break them down for your audience. Examples: “What to Expect During a Divorce Consultation.” “Understanding Your Rights After a Workplace Accident.” “How to Navigate Probate in the UK.” Tip: Focus on one key topic per video to keep it concise and easy to follow. 2️⃣ Showcase Client Success Stories Sharing anonymised testimonials or case outcomes can demonstrate your firm’s impact and build credibility. Example: A personal injury lawyer could share how their efforts helped a client secure a settlement. Tip: Use storytelling techniques to make these videos relatable and emotionally engaging. 3️⃣ Introduce Your Team Building trust starts with showing the human side of your firm. Use videos to introduce your solicitors, highlight their expertise, and provide a glimpse into your office culture. Examples: “Meet [Name], Our Family Law Specialist.” “A Day in the Life at [Your Firm].” Tip: Keep these videos professional yet approachable, showcasing your team’s personality and professionalism. 4️⃣ Use Live and Recorded Webinars Webinars allow you to engage directly with your audience, offering insights on trending topics or answering questions. Examples: “Navigating GDPR Compliance for Small Businesses.” “Understanding the Implications of No-Fault Divorce.” Tip: Record webinars to repurpose key moments into shorter clips for social media. 5️⃣ Optimise for Accessibility Make your videos accessible to a wider audience by including captions and transcripts. Why It Matters: Many users watch videos without sound, and captions also support viewers with hearing impairments. Tip: Use tools like Rev or Otter.ai to generate captions easily. 6️⃣ Promote Strategically Great video content needs to reach the right audience. Share videos on LinkedIn, your website, and via email newsletters. Use short clips or teaser versions on social media to drive traffic to the full video. Example: Post a 15-second clip of a webinar on LinkedIn with a link to watch the full session. 7️⃣ Track Video Performance Measure how your videos are performing and refine your approach based on data. Metrics to Monitor: Views, engagement (likes/comments), watch time, and conversions. Example: If explainer videos outperform team introductions, focus your efforts on educational content. Videos are a powerful way to engage your audience, showcase your expertise, and build trust. By tailoring your content to client needs and presenting it in an accessible, relatable way, your firm can create meaningful connections that lead to results. 💬 What legal topics would you cover in a video?

Visual storytelling just became a universal capability. If you lead teams, manage projects, or explain complex ideas - you just got a new superpower in your toolkit. Yesterday, I created an animated video about AI's history through a simple conversation with an AI agent. No design skills.  No video editing background.  Just natural language and the right tools. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗜 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 One agent. Multiple specialized models. One conversation. I described what I wanted to create, and the agent orchestrated three AI models as tools: → 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺: Generated high-quality visuals showing AI's evolution from the 1950s to today → 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Animated those images with natural motion and smooth transitions between eras   → 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀: Created a human-like voiceover narrating the timeline The agent understood context across the entire workflow.  It coordinated the models.  It refined based on my feedback. The result? A polished, studio-quality animated video that would have required a creative team and weeks of coordination. Time invested: A few minutes.  Technical expertise required: Knowing how to describe what I wanted. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 Complex ideas demand compelling presentations. Technical concepts need accessible explanations. Great strategies deserve powerful narratives. You shouldn't need to outsource your voice because visualization felt out of reach. Whether you're a manager who never touched creative tools or a technical person who thought this "wasn't your thing" - that barrier just disappeared. That quarterly presentation about system architecture? Visualize it. The client pitch explaining your approach? Turn it into a story. The training content no one engages with? Bring it to life. The ability to create powerful narratives and visualize them just became ubiquitous. What would you communicate differently if visual storytelling was as simple as having a conversation?

What Happens Before the Camera Rolls Matters More Than the Edit. Storytelling on camera isn’t about shooting beautiful footage and hoping the story appears in post. When organizations invest in video, every frame communicates something, whether it was intentional or not. What often determines the impact of an enterprise video isn’t production quality. It’s whether the story was clearly defined and aligned before the camera ever turned on. When that foundation isn’t in place, visuals can unintentionally pull attention away from the message instead of reinforcing it. You can light it beautifully. You can cut it perfectly. But you can’t edit clarity into a story that was never defined. I’ll give you an example. A potential client once shared that their brand video “just wasn’t landing.” The opening shot showed the founder walking away from the camera on a beach, her back facing us. This was meant to represent her origin story. Her business, however, had no connection to water. And more importantly, the very first image created distance rather than connection. Before a word was spoken, the story was already working harder than it needed to. That wasn’t a production issue - it was a narrative decision made early, before the camera rolled. This is why narrative work belongs upstream of production. When the story is clear first, everything that follows has a stronger foundation to stand on. #EnterpriseCommunications #B2BStorytelling #NarrativeStrategy

🎥 The Power of Storytelling in Front of the Camera 🎥 Storytelling isn’t just a skill—it’s the heartbeat of impactful communication, especially on camera. As a TV producer, I've learned that every story has the potential to create connection and inspire change. Working on "Health Uncensored with Dr. Drew", has been an incredible journey of bringing stories to life that truly make a difference. We get to dive into powerful narratives and bridge the gap between complex topics and real-world solutions. Here’s what I’ve found essential to telling stories that resonate: 💎 Start with a Purpose: Define the why behind every story. A strong purpose guides every word and gesture, creating a message that sticks. 💎 Be Authentic: In front of the camera, authenticity is your greatest asset. Audiences connect with real emotion—don’t be afraid to show yours. 💎 Keep It Simple, but Meaningful: Complex stories need clarity to resonate. Break down ideas so they’re easy to grasp, but don’t lose the depth of the message. Remember that clarity builds trust. 💎 Show Empathy: Make the audience feel seen and understood. Whether it’s a tough topic or an inspiring journey, empathy is the link between you and your viewers. 💎 Confidence: Know your story and let it shine through your confidence. Practice, refine, and embrace your unique presence. 💎 Create a Visual Connection: Eye contact, tone, and body language are vital. Visualize speaking to one person. This creates intimacy and makes your message personal. 💡 In my journey, storytelling isn’t about perfection. It’s about connection, impact, and leaving viewers with something that lingers long after the screen fades to black. Lucky to do what I do! . . . . #tvproducer #brandexpert #Oncameratalent #storyteller

We ship 1000s of videos monthly. Steal our visual storytelling playbook that consistently drives 20-40%+ ROAS improvements(even if you have no fancy equipment or editing software). Most creative marketers’ be like: - Copy a competitor ad's script. - Ask GPT to find a 'strong hook'. - Use bland sequences of footage. - ...or footage of creators talking to camera. - and then wonder why the f their ads look lame. sorry guys - no amount of GPT-scripts or 'strong hooks' will save you. "A picture is worth a thousand words" - as they say. After making tens of thousands of videos our #1 learning is... ....that the difference between good and great videos is NOT the words. ...it's how the videos LOOK, cos that visual impact influences how users FEEL. with video ads, visual storytelling is worth MILLIONS of bucks. which is why we review hundreds of thousands of videos... to understand EXACTLY what makes 'em tick. ↳ what stops a scroll ↳ what drives users to click ↳ ..and what drives users to action. sooo we put together some of our internal visual storytelling playbook... .....to take videos from meh to snappy, from so-so to scroll-stopping. 🎬 VIRTUAL BACKGROUNDS THAT POP ↳ They NEVER keep the same background throughout ↳ This creates a visual transformation story without saying a word ↳ They use "problem state" backgrounds that transition to "solution state" visuals (Most advertisers just slap on a random background and call it a day...) 🏎️ SIMULATED MOTION ↳ Subtle camera shakes to convey tension/frustration ↳ Strategic zooms to emphasize emotional moments ↳ Smooth pans to showcase product features ...and yes, you can add these even with AI-generated content! 🎭 PROPS & GRAPHICS ↳ Themed accessories that fit the narrative ↳ Virtual elements that enhance storytelling ↳ Visual overlays that emphasize key stats/moments This is where most brands completely drop the ball... ⏯️ TRANSITIONS THAT TELL A STORY ↳ Strategic fades (mood transitions) ↳ Quick cuts between close-ups (builds tension) ↳ Match cuts (seamlessly connecting related visuals) ↳ Whip pans (dramatic shifts from problem→solution) The difference between good and great comes down to just these simple techniques. 🅱️ B-ROLL THAT ADDS DEPTH ↳ Supporting footage that complements the main story ↳ Contextual visuals that reinforce your message ↳ Emotional cues that guide viewer response ....and a LOT more. I've put together a complete playbook with examples of each technique, including: ⏩️ Pan 🏎️ Zoom 🅱️ B-roll 🫨 Shake 🎭 Props 〽️ Swipe 🎥 B-Roll 👾 Graphics 📷 Whip Pan 💃 Costumes 🧨 Match Cut ⏯️ Transitions ✂️ Quick Cuts 🔛 Fade In/ Fade Out 📍Location (Virtual Backgrounds) 🎬 Movement (Simulated Motion) ...even if you can use a handful of these techniques(that dont need fancy cameras or editing software, and work on AI generated footage too), it can be a gamechanger. Drop "VISUAL" in the comments and I'll share the full playbook with you.

One shot. No cuts. The best brand videos feel like cinema—here’s why. Ever watched a brand video that felt so immersive, you forgot it was even selling something? That’s the magic of one-constant-shot storytelling—where every frame pulls you in like a scene from a film. We’ve seen glimpses of this with JACQUEMUS’ x Apple BTS aesthetic, that raw, handheld look that makes luxury feel intimate. But about:blank takes it further. Their world-building doesn’t just sell clothes—it sells a feeling. No fast cuts. No filler. Just a hypnotic, continuous shot that makes you feel like you’ve stepped inside their universe. Why this works: It mirrors the way we actually experience life—no edits, just flow. It forces you to focus. No distractions, no mindless scroll-past. It makes brand storytelling feel human—like you’re there, living it. For creatives, the takeaway is clear: Think like a director, not just a marketer. Make your audience feel something before they even realize what they’re watching. The brands that win aren’t just selling products. They’re building worlds. 🌍 Who else is nailing this cinematic approach? Drop your faves below. ⬇️ #Storytelling #BrandMarketing #CreativeStrategy #Filmmaking
