Interactive content has evolved from a novelty to a fundamental strategy for publishers aiming to enhance audience engagement in 2025. As readers increasingly seek immersive experiences, publishers are incorporating gamification elements, such as quizzes, polls, and interactive narratives, to transform passive consumption into active participation. This approach not only captivates audiences but also fosters a deeper connection with the content. Polls, for instance, are a powerhouse tool. Embedded directly into articles, they turn passive readers into active contributors, boosting time spent on-page and uncovering preferences traditional analytics miss. These insights enable publishers to refine their content strategies while fostering a sense of community, a win-win for trust and relevance. Publishers like The New York Times have pioneered this approach for over a decade. Their iconic "How Y’all, Youse, and You Guys Talk" dialect quiz, launched 10 years ago, became the most-read article in the outlet’s history at the time and remains a blueprint for hyperlocal publishers. By leveraging regional dialects, it transformed linguistic curiosity into a nationwide conversation while fostering micro-community connections—proof that localised interactive tools drive sustained engagement. Hyperlocal publishers are now building on this legacy. For example, TribLive’s 2023 “Can You Pass This Pittsburgh Slang Quiz?” became a viral sensation in Western Pennsylvania, testing readers’ knowledge of phrases like “yinz” and “jaggerbush.” This playful interactive piece not only celebrated regional identity but also drove record traffic and social shares, showcasing how dialect-driven content strengthens community ties. Also, incorporating game-like elements taps into readers' intrinsic motivations, such as the desire for achievement and competition. This strategy enhances user satisfaction and encourages repeat visits, thereby increasing engagement and loyalty. Here are the key takeaways for publishers: 1.    Implement Interactive Elements: Integrate features like quizzes and polls to create engaging content formats. 2.    Understand Audience Preferences: Tailor interactive components to align with your readers' interests and behaviors. 3.    Measure and Optimise: Regularly evaluate the performance of interactive content to refine strategies and maximise engagement. Interactive content is shaping the future of digital publishing. By embracing gamification and incorporating tools like polls into editorial strategies, publishers can craft compelling experiences that not only attract but also retain readers. Everyone says ‘use AI tools’ — but no one tells you how to actually integrate them into your daily workflow. Let’s fix that. Here’s how I use 4 AI tools in my content + client work every single day (without it feeling like a gimmick): 🔹 1. ChatGPT – The Strategic Assistant I don’t just ask it to write captions. I use it to: Break down client pain points based on audience personas Write 10 different versions of a hook so I can A/B test Generate marketing angles for tough niches like education or finance 🧠 Prompt idea: “Act like a CMO for a college. Give me 5 viral content hooks around exam stress.” 🔹 2. Opus Clip – Long video → 5 viral shorts If you're creating podcasts, webinars, or long Zoom interviews—this saves you HOURS. I just upload the full video, and it gives me smart cuts with headlines, emojis, and zooms. Great for creators or consultants building a personal brand. 🔹 3. Simplified – One-stop shop for content design Think Canva, but with a brain. I use it to: Design carousels Create video scripts Auto-generate content plans Perfect for teams or solopreneurs who hate switching tabs 50 times. 🔹 4. Engage.ai – AI for LinkedIn engagement It helps me write thoughtful replies (not just “Great post!”). That’s how I’ve started 10+ conversations that led to client calls. Relationships are built in the comments—this tool helps you stand out. 🚀 Takeaway: Don’t just collect tools. Build a system that saves time and increases output. 🔁 If you feel overwhelmed by “too many tools”—this is your sign to pick 2 and go deep. 👇 Drop a 🔧 below and I’ll share my current AI stack for content + client projects.

We've just crossed 180,000 followers company wide. Here's every tool we use: 1. Post Ideation → Scripe This has been essential for me because I don't need to reinvent the wheel every time. I can analyse top people in my industry and study what's working for the biggest names in B2B. It breaks down what works based on your performance, from content format, posting time, topic selection. Also includes team analytics so I can track impressions across the entire ColdIQ team. Huge shout to Carmen for showing us the ropes. → Kleo (2.0 soon available) Focuses on finding content gaps. You can visit any creator's profile and Kleo ranks their content by engagement. Perfect for reverse-engineering what works. 2. Writing → Claude (Anthropic) I've built an entire Claude project specifically for my copywriting. I've fed it transcripts from calls, best practices, examples of my highest-performing content. So when I need to give a post a little TLC, it's not generic A (it knows my voice). Brilliant for taking one piece of content and repurosing it into five different formats. → Grammarly Might seem basic, but I type insanely fast and use Aqua Voice on my laptop to convert speech to text. I talk my posts, and Grammarly catches all those speech-to-text mistakes and keeps my writing consistent. When you're posting 3-5x per week, those little errors add up. 3. Visual Creation → Canva Still the most beginner-friendly option for creating LinkedIn carousels and infographics. Their LinkedIn templates are pretty decent now. → Figma What our designers use for the high-performing visuals that drive massive engagement. Visuals can multiply your reach by 3-10x, so at some point it's worth investing in great design. 4. Video Content → OpusClip AI clipping tool that turns long-form content into short clips automatically. Not perfect, but saves hours of manual editing. Several of Alex's OpusClip videos hit 50K+ impressions while taking us 2 minutes to generate. → Screen Studio My favorite Mac screen recorder for tutorial content. Does automatic zooms and focus changes that make your videos look way more professional than they actually are. 5. Organisation → Notion This is our command center. The entire ColdIQ team has our content calendar here. We've broken down posting cadence, content pillars. Everything is briefed out and centralized in one place to keep Ada organized amongst the chaos. I draft posts, track ideas, and manage our entire content system through Notion. That's the stack that helped the team grow to 180,000 followers and on track to get 500+ posts out a month on LI. More importantly, it's the system that drove 65% of our inbound leads. What tools am I missing? Let me know 🫶

  • What if you could see how engaged your webinar audience really was…not just guess? We just launched attendee analytics with heatmaps in Wistia’s webinar product, and I have to say: it’s kind of blowing my mind. You’re no longer stuck with just knowing who registered or showed up. Now you can see who actually paid attention. Who kept your webinar open the whole time. Who was clicking, chatting, reacting. Who stayed fully focused for 5 minutes or 50. And here's the kicker: This signal is stronger than what you'd get from an in-person event. At a live event, you can’t tell who’s just being polite versus who’s genuinely tuned in. But this? This shows you exactly who’s leaning in and gives you the data to act on it. We’re talking names, companies, watch time, engagement… all in one place. This is the clearest window I’ve ever seen into audience interest. I made the below video because I was so excited to use the product with real data. Seeing how it works on our webinars made it click for me in a whole new way. Attendee analytics is more than a feature. It’s a new metric. One that gives you real insight into what’s working and who actually cares. You don’t need a bigger audience. You need better signals. And now, we’ve got them.
