A Dublin Bus carrying a number of passengers was evacuated after it went on fire this morning.
The E1 bus went on fire on Morehampton Road in Donnybrook, Dublin 4, shortly after 9am this morning.
Emergency services attended the scene and the fire was extinguished around an hour later.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
A passenger travelling on the bus described hearing a "bang" followed by a "jolt".
"A couple of young lads, around 14, 15, then said 'look there's smoke' so I stood up, everyone stood up.
"We all got off, it was done in a calm manner," the passenger said.
Diversions are in place on both the E1 and E2 routes, and the Morehampton Road has been closed as a result of the blaze.
Two Dublin Fire Brigade units attended the scene as well as an ambulance and senior officer from Donnybrook Fire Station.
Dublin Bus has said it has begun a full investigation into the incident.
In a statement, Dublin Bus said: "Dublin Bus can confirm that there was fire on a bus this morning on Route E1 on Morehampton Road.
"All passengers were evacuated from the bus, emergency services were called and the fire was extinguished.
"There are no injuries. Dublin Bus has begun a full investigation into the incident."
A spokesperson for Dublin Bus added that the bus was not an electric vehicle.
Diversions are in place for E1 and E2 routes on northbound services until further notice.
Northbound
Divert via Waterloo Road, Baggot Street, turning onto Pembroke Street Upper and back onto normal route
Stops 906, 907, 908 and 909 not in use.
