# Transfer Meta App Ownership
You can transfer ownership of your Meta app using the App Dashboard and the Business Manager.
## Transfer ownership to a new Administrator {#new-admin}
The following steps show you how to transfer ownership of your Meta app to an individual by assigning him or her as an [Administrator role](https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/development/build-and-test/app-roles) on your app and remove yourself as an Administrator.
1. In the [App Dashboard](https://developers.facebook.com/apps), select the app you want to transfer.
2. Click **App roles > Roles** in the lower right corner of the page. Send an invitation to the individual. This invitation can be viewed in their app dashboard.
3. The individual must accept the Administrator role invitation for the app in their app dashboard.
4. Once the invitation has been accepted, the new Administrator can remove the you from the Administrator role of the app, or you can remove yourself.
## Transfer ownership to your managed Meta account {#manage-meta-account}
The following steps show you how to transfer ownership of your Meta app to your managed Meta account.
1. In the [App Dashboard](https://developers.facebook.com/apps), select the app you want to transfer.
2. Click **App settings > Basic** in the bottom left corner of the page.
3. Click **+ business portfolio** in the **Business portfolio ownership** section. A popup will appear with a list of businesses that you have a role on, both verified and unverified, a **+Create a new business portfolio** link, and an **Enter Business ID** button.
4. Follow the instructions to choose the portfolio your organization uses for your managed Meta account. An asset claim request will be delivered to the business portfolio’s **Requests** inbox.
* You can cancel the request while the request is pending.
5. Once the request is accepted, your managed Meta account will have the same access to the app that your Facebook account had before your account was migrated. The app will then be owned by your organization. **Once approved, this action cannot be undone.**
6. Repeat these steps for every app you want to transfer to your managed Meta account.
## Transfer ownership to a new subsidiary {#new-business}
The following steps show you how to transfer ownership of your Meta app from one subsidiary to another subsidiary. In this section "subsidiary" and "business" are used interchangeably.
#### Requirements
You must have an Administrator role on the app and an Administrator role on the original business.
### Use Case app
If your app is a **Use Case** app, use these steps to transfer ownership: Add a new business portfolio to the app
1. In the [App Dashboard](https://developers.facebook.com/apps), select the app you want to transfer.
2. Click **Review > Verification** in the left-side menu.
3. Click **Remove**. You are redirected to the Business Manager **Business Settings > Apps** section with the app pre-selected.
4. Click **Remove** in the upper right corner of the App's section.
5. Return to the App Dashboard and click **Review > Verification** in the left-side menu.
6. Click the **Start Verification** button.
7. In the popup, select the business, verified or unverified, to transfer the app to.
### App Type app
If your app is an **App Type** app, use these steps to transfer ownership: Add a new business portfolio to the app
1. In the [App Dashboard](https://developers.facebook.com/apps), select the app you want to transfer.
2. Click **App settings > Basic** in the bottom left corner of the page.
3. Go to the **Verification** section and click **Remove**.
4. Click the **Start Verification** button.
5. In the popup, select the business, verified or unverified, to transfer the app to.
